this mod is based off a stripped down version of the Open Warfare Mod. ...
I don't think Tally (AWE) has done anything in World at War for some time, he left the COD modding community a while back. But the spawn protection thing was something that happened with AWE back in cod4.
I believe this mod is based upon a version of AWE. I haven't looked all that closely at the source I can see, but many of the variables and code I have seen looks more like the AWE coding style as opposed to the OW style.
There is however a Nam mod which is an overlay of the OW mod. We tried it on our test server and found it to be rather clunky, perhaps because it is an overlay rather than a full mod.ff implementation.
This mod appears to be the work of Zeroy with some help from Robbo, and perhaps others over at RGN.

Hi LoneWolf,
thank you very much for your quick advice. I have got a Nvidia GForce GTX 260 and I updated its driver a few weeks ago, so maybe this could be the cause of the problem. I will install my old driver and check it out for a try. Thank you again.

Running Win7-64. Had a problem where WAW would minimize to desktop leaving a black screen. Running two monitors I had taskman up and COD would go to Not Responding. Found out it was the Windows 7 Aero Theme installed. Went to Basic>Windows classic theme and WAW runs great.

Re: St. Marie-Du-Mont glitch « Result #31 on Dec 10, 2009, 12:48pm »
This is a game issue and not confined to this map or server. Commonly seen on COD2, especially on sniper servers where gun barrel protrudes from the dividing object (wall, tree, etc.) and gives players position away. If a body part protrudes from the object, then the player can be wounded/killed.
Most regular players on sniper severs are aware of this aspect of COD2 and is why they often do not get too close to objects which they are hiding behind.
thank you very much for providing this Vietnam server. Its great fun to play here on new interesting maps but I have a problem with (down)loading - i think it is - the mp-vm-vietnam map and need some advice.
Everytime - while (down) loading this map - my PC cracks down and COD shows "Error"-Box with no more specific information. Everything else is fine - its just this map. I would appreciate any short reply on this problem and thank you in advance.
Greetings Kurtz
Without a code for the actual error, I can only guess. But, whenever I have seen this with my own system it turns out to be related to graphics issues. You may want to check that you have the latest drivers, are using the proper DirectX, run the DirectX diagnostics to see if there are issues, or try reverting to an older version of the driver for your card.

Spawn protection is set for invisible spawn. However, there is a short period of a second or so where you are visible before it enguages. I have not tried to observe what occurs if someone attempts to circumvent the no weapon setting. It could very well be that if one makes movements to obtain their weapon during the protection period, that you loose the invisibility too.
However, I have seen players who spawn then go invisible and remain invisible for the protection period. So will have to investigate further.

Re: Brecourt issue for COD:WAW « Result #41 on Dec 10, 2009, 8:40am »
You can also remove the Brecourt map from form your User Maps folder and then when it comes up again on the server you will receive a fresh download which may correct the issue.
* As both servers use the same UserMaps folder, so if the map file is corrupt you will have an issue on both servers.

I was expecting you to say ATI, so I could respond with "that's your problem" so this will cause me to actually think about this a bit.... LOL
A few questions .....
When it "crashes" it is a Blue Screen Of Death, or does it simply popup a window that says "COD WAW has stopped working" ?
Which OS are you running XP, Vista32 Vista64, Windows7-32 Windows7-64 ?
Are you running TeamSpeakOverlay, FRAPS, or other graphics overlay program at the same time?
Are you graphics drivers and directX up to date?
Is you SOUND driver up to date (this ends up being the least thought of but most likely cause) ?
Are you using a dedicated Sound card or on-board sound built into your motherboard? If you have both, go to the BIOS and disable the on-board motherboard sound device.
Are you running AVG free, or Avast! Free versions for virus preotection? If so, disable them prior to gameplay....

Not going to believe it. Went to Windowed Mode (config_mp> seta r_fullscreeen "0") and started a server with PB on. Server launched, progress bar finished and the program started to minimize when a nice little Win7 warning window popped up stating that the Program is uncomaptable with color pallet for Windows 7 Aero desktops. Changed to Win7 basic desktop and now it works. Go Figure! Anyway, see you on the servers.
Brecourt issue for COD:WAW « Result #61 on Dec 9, 2009, 1:29pm »
Everytime I play Brecourt on either your 5.1 or 5.2 servers my game locks up then crashes. Just wondering if anyone else has had the same issue or knows what the problem is.

I am giving you the Vista directions but hopefully Windows 7 is close....
Exit all games. Hit Ctrl-Alt-Delete, start the task manager....
In the Task Manager, hit the services tab. Click on the "Services..." button.
In the next window that pops up showing the services, find PnkBstrA in the list, and right click on it and select Properties. (Please note the Services tab will also show the services, but right clicking does not give the Properties option, you have to hit the "Services..." button first)
Hit the "Log on" tab. Somewhere there is check box that reads:
COD WAW punkbuster problems « Result #70 on Dec 9, 2009, 5:59am »
Running Win7 64bit. Game minimizes with a black screen and Taskman shows CODWAW not responding. Started my own server with punkbuster enabled and same thing happens. Start my own server with Pb disabled and it works fine. Solo also works fine. Been to the web pages and tried XP and Vista compatability modes on both WAW and PB. Aslo tried Run as admin along with all possible combinations of both settings. Firewall is configured to pass PB-A and PB-B. Taskman shows both Pb-A and Pb-b running. Any thoughts?

Re: Keyboard / Keypad? « Result #72 on Dec 8, 2009, 10:53pm »
I would like to thank everyone for their input on the subject. I have gotten to play on a Steelseries Merc Stealth keyboard. it helps out allot but I don't want to give up my regular keyboard which i do my art work on. So I have decided to go with the Cyber Snipa Game Pad V2. I will stop back by in a few weeks and leave word on how well it preforms.

TrackIR and Freetrack (a DIY version) are essential IMHO for the games that support them. Vehicles only in BF2 and BFBC and everything in ARMA2. Search ARMA2 TrackIR on youtube, there's a bunch of vids there. Every game should support it, very cool and immersive for infantry. Being able to quickly look around instead of having to pivot your entire upper body tied to your weapon is natural. Once you use it, it's tough going back.....
A pig farmer visited a neighboring pig-farmer and noticed a pig with an artificial leg. Upon asking, his friend said “That’s Ed. He is probably the smartest pig in the county. Three years ago, he surprised us all by publishing a small book of poems. And for the past few months, he’s been writing a financial column for our local paper. “That’s hard to believe,” says the first friend. “Wait, there’s more. Just two weeks ago my little granddaughter was playing in the barn when it caught on fire. Old Ed broke out of his pen, ran into the barn, dragged the little girl to safety, led the animals calmly out to safety, then dialed 911 to get the emergency crews here.” That’s fantastic,” said the first friend. “I’ve never heard of such an amazing pig before. But I still don’t understand: How did this pig end up with an artificial leg?” The farmer laughs. “Well,” he says, “a pig like that you don’t eat all at once!”

Lean was in a few of the MoH games. Had some issues with people swaying to avoid hits. I would see no reason, unless they are IW, to remove lean. Lets hope.
But wow kill someone for your purse is a little much dont you think .........
We carry items of great importance and value in them - don't you know there's a little bit of everything in a woman's purse. We're more prepared for any situation than the Boy Scouts could hope to be.
Just as a FYI when you spawn, you can go prone and then back to crouch quickly and it will take away the spawn protection and make your weapon readily available should you be in a situation where you are taking fire.

Really enjoyed the new server, graphics are great and music is also. Know it is a work in process and look forward to the glich fixes. tried several of the weapons and the m14 was really bad, good hits were not fatal. Grease and m16 worked well. Minor graphics clitches in the Hua day mod. Over all a really great time.
